What we do

What are Borderless Press’ service areas?

We seek to disrupt and change the flow of knowledge production and distribution in the following ways:

Book Publishing – Borderless Press will publish the scholarship of Majority World scholars in Africa, Asia and South America. We do not charge our authors to publish their manuscript. We work with our authors from the receipt of their manuscript through peer review, revisions, copyediting, lay-out, cover design, back cover endorsements, publishing and marketing through our network of 10,000+ members.
Pre-peer Review Process – We are the only publisher to provide our scholar-authors with the benefit of a pre-peer review to assist them with planning for a successful double blind peer review process.  The pre-peer review process offers authors the time to plan if necessary to make substantive revisions.
Short-term Writing Residencies – We offer three month writing residencies to eligible authors whose books have been through pre-peer review and that show substantial promise to make a major contribution to scholarship.
Scholarly Writing and Publishing Workshops – Through our collaboration with Postcolonial Networks, Borderless Press is able to offer writing and publishing workshops to share the unwritten publishing conventions.
Book Circulation – Borderless Press facilitates bilateral book exchanges to benefit scholars around the world. Our participating universities are St. Paul’s University in Limuru, Kenya and Brite Divinity School Library in Forth Worth, Texas, USA.
Knowledge Activism Advocacy – Through Borderless Press’ leadership participation in conversations with educators we offer a vision and the accompanying practices to decolonize knowledge.
