Meet the Team


Dr. Joseph F. Duggan

Founder and Publisher

Dr. Duggan is the founder of Postcolonial Networks and Borderless Press. He is also founding editor of Palgrave Macmillan’s series, Postcolonialism and Religions. Dr. Duggan is a knowledge activist and published scholar. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Manchester.

Dr. R.S. Wafula

Borderless Press Managing Editor and Vice President of Postcolonial Networks

Dr. Wafula is the Co-leader for Scholarly Writing and Publishing workshops in the Majority World, and also assists in mentoring scholars in their writing. He received his Ph.D. from Drew University and is currently a Visiting Scholar at Luther College in Iowa.

Melody Stanford

Production Editor, Director of Communications

Ms. Stanford has a background in project management, marketing and graphic design, and for many years has worked as a consultant for non-profit identity and mission cultivation. In addition to dual undergraduate degrees in business and theology, she obtained a Masters of Divinity degree from Boston University in 2016. She brings a strong interest in religion, sociology, critical liberation, and decolonizing theories to her production and administrative offerings.

Caroline Brennan

Borderless Press Copy Editor

Caroline Brennan spent several years on the front lines of multilateral diplomacy at the United Nations, working with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in humanitarian affairs from 2007 to 2012. Previously, she studied international development, postcolonial theory, and history in Canada, Europe, and North Africa; she obtained her master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 2007, specializing in Middle Eastern history. Currently, she is Associate Editor at Cirrus Test Prep in Houston, Texas, where she also writes United States and world history content for test preparation textbooks.
